The price of electricity has suddenly increased across the world and meanwhile the coal stock in coal-fired power plants in India has depleted. About 70 percent of the electricity generation in India comes from coal-fired power plants. The central government is not able to accept that there is a coal crisis in the country and due to its policy of turning a blind eye to every problem, any problem can prove to be formidable for the country. The story of industrial coal mining in India began with Raniganj in West Bengal where the East India Company mined coal for the first time in 1774 in the Narayankudi area.
But at that time the industrial revolution did not reach India and the demand for coal was very less. In such a situation, there was no large scale coal production in India for the next one century. Due to heavy rains this year also there has been a reduction in the production and supply of coal.
The Coal Minister, however, said, "If we combine the figures of the last several years, we will find that this year, the production and supply of coal has been the highest in September and especially in October. Along with this, the lack of electricity has also had a bad effect on the economy. Recently, in a study done by the World Bank, the lack of energy was said to be a hindrance to economic development. During the meeting, all the states unanimously acknowledged the lack of desired supply of coal and several policy lapses as the reason for the power crisis. There is a 1200 MW thermal power plant in Hisar, Haryana, which requires five rakes of coal per day, whereas it gets only two rakes available. The coal that he gets also contains about 40 percent ash, which the plant has to spend a lot in disposing of it.
Due to the increase in heat, the load of power houses has also more than doubled now. Due to increasing load, the power light is going off again and again. The temperature is reaching 45 degrees during the day. Hot winds are bothering people. People's problems are read due to the strong sunlight since morning. To save from the heat, people resort to AC and coolers at home and office. If it is winter then we resort to high voltage devices like geysers, blowers, heaters, due to which the power consumption and load is increasing. Due to this, now the transformers are also responding due to which the faces of the transformers start flying. Earlier houses used to load 300 amperes, in today's time, 700 amperes are loaded in houses. More than 15 lakh units are being consumed in a day. Earlear, 50 lakh units of electricity were consumed in many districts, but now this consumption has increased to 65 lakh units. In view of this problem, now the load capacity of 15 transformers has been increased. Earlier the capacity of these transformers was 100 KVA but now the capacity has been increased to 200 KVA.
Districts like gurugram and its suburban areas are likely to face ongoing power cuts, shortage of coal or blowing up of transformers. The shortage of coal has led to the shortage of electricity.
The Minister of Power Department for haryana says that there may be a power crisis. It is worth noting that after giving dearness allowance from the government, it was asked to be given along with the salary of October 2021. Along with this salary, it was said that even after giving arrears of increment. According to a senior official, thousands of engineers and employees were engaged in power distribution, generation and management companies.
The Government of India will have to take a big step for the ongoing power problem. One of the reasons for the power problems due to shortage of coal is coal scam and power theft. The government should also investigate this issue, so that this problem of coal shortage and power theft can be reduced to some extent, people's homes will be able to supply electricity from it. Due to bribery and arbitrariness of electricians in the electricity department, the problem of law and order continues to arise in the district due to bandhs, road jams, demonstrations. On the other hand, instead of solving these problems, the officers of the department are eager to destroy the consumers more than necessary in the name of revenue recovery.
The businessmen, doctors and common citizens of the district also apprised the DM about this problem. But, till now neither the people's bills are improving. No faulty meter is being repaired. Even after depositing the amount, the new meter is not working on time. Departmental officers are running a one-point campaign of revenue recovery. The process of registering an FIR against people in this name is going on in full swing. Hardly a week passes when there is no movement for replacement of dilapidated wires, damage to life and property due to falling wires, and demand for replacement of transformers. These days, complaints of sending electricity bills without giving electricity connections are also coming in large quantities to the public court of the District Magistrate. Replace the dilapidated wires or the increased cities of all the districts should do 200 KVA transformers and the District Magistrate should pay attention to the complaints regarding power supply. There are 74 thousand electricity consumers in the district. Of these, 18,000 houses do not have meters. These people are being billed at a fixed rate.A large number of government offices and residences are also included in this, their meters should be fixed. The department claims to replace most of the worn out wires. But, the wires of many localities of the city are still completely dilapidated, there is a need to replace those wires. Somewhere 11 KVA wire is passing over the roof of the people and somewhere the electric wire is passing through bamboo for one kilometer, this condition should be improved.
FIRs have been ordered against big defaulters by the senior officers. The revenue recovery campaign is going on on his own instructions. The department is also making efforts to replace the worn out wires and solve other problems of the consumers. Hopefully most of the problems will be resolved soon.
The problem of electricity in our country has to be solved by the government by taking some strict steps, investigating the coal scam and closing it, stopping electricity theft by meter by checking the meter, replacing the dilapidated wires, bamboo from place to place. The government can overcome this problem to some extent by installing poles for passing wires, installing 200 kVA transformers in every district village and taking some other steps. In this way, in the coming time, electricity trouble can also be eliminated.
On the ongoing power problem of the government, it is decided that the department has started a new system to provide good facilities to the electricity consumers. Under this, every problem of the consumers will be solved immediately. In order to provide more convenience to the consumers, Power Corporation has divided City Town into two parts. Four power sub-stations will be included in Town I and two power sub-stations in Town II, this will also get rid of this problem of electricity bill.
